Peter Randall
CEO Equiduct Systems

Peter Randall is the Chief Executive of Equiduct Systems Ltd. Peter started his career in investment  research and was named a leading analyst by Euromoney when he was at James Capel. He spent an extended time in Asia with the joint venture between Sanford Bernstein and James Capel where he was responsible for quantitative sales, after this he became the MD of Thamesway and then CEO of Instinet in Asia. Peter relocated to Instinet Europe in 2005 and was responsible for delivering the MiFID compliant Chi-X platform. He latterly served as CEO of Chi-X Europe Limited. Peter has been on a number of regulatory committees and was educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.

Willy Van Stappen
COO

Willy joined Equiduct Systems as its Chief Operating Officer in March 2007, after more than 25 years experience in the securities industry. Willy joined Equiduct from LCH.Clearnet SA where he was Member of the company's Investment Management Committee and the company's Integration Programme Committee and Programme Director responsible for the Equities Integration and Equities Harmonization Programme. Between 2001 and 2003, Willy was member of the Executive Committee of Clearnet SA (Banque Centrale de Compensation, France) as head of operations Clearnet SA and General Manager of their Brussels branch. He was also a Member of the Board of the Belgian CSD "CIK" from 2000 and 2005 and member of the Brussels' Euronext Orientation Council. From 1999 to 2001, Willy was Member of the Executive Committee of Brussels Exchanges (BXS), CEO of BXS Clearing S.A. and of BXS-CIK S.A. From 1990 to 1999, he was Vice-President of the Executive Committee of Belfox (Belgium Futures and Options Markets) with responsibilities over the Clearing, Compliance, Finance and Trading departments. Prior to joining Belfox, Willy held different positions in the securities departments of various financial institutions. Willy chaired the European Association of Central Counterparty Clearing Houses in 2001.

At Equiduct Systems, Willy is responsible for Operations Management including On-boarding, technical Market Control and Clearing & Settlement.

 

Ian Werner
General Counsel

Ian Werner joined Equiduct in May 2010 bringing with him more than 10 years of experience in the equities trading infrastructure environment. He was most recently the Head of Legal Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs and a Board member of Turquoise. Ian was responsible for the delivery of the regulatory approval for the operation of the Turquoise MTF and was subsequently Counsel on the sale of the business to the London Stock Exchange. Prior to this Ian spent time at the FSA as a Consultant, the London Stock Exchange as the Manager of the Compliance and Investigations function and at CREST/Euroclear where he was the Compliance Manager.  

Gilles Monat
Co-Head of Sales

Gilles has worked in the European financial industry for over 14 years. Before working for Equiduct, Gilles was the Managing Director of GL Trade Belgium & Luxembourg. A.o. Gilles was responsible for launching the MiFID project for the buy- and sell side community in this region. Previous to this role, Gilles was working at GL Trade Paris as Sales Director in charge of the development of the Front office business in France, Switzerland and Monaco.  Prior to these management roles, he was working as a sales executive and as an technical account manager in charge of the french largest banks' trading architectures. Previous to GL Trade, Gilles was a Financial Controller for Euronext, where he was in charge of the financial follow up for some of Euronext´s trading and data feed business subsidiaries.

At Equiduct, Gilles is tasked with introducing a new and truly MiFID compliant trading platform to the French speaking financial community.

Stuart Rutherford
Co-Head of Sales

Stuart joined Equiduct in June 2010 bringing over 20 years experience in trading and technology to Equiduct sales team and strong ties to the broker community.

Before Equiduct, Stuart joined Head of Sales at NASDAQ OMX Europe from Plus Markets Plc where he was Head of Trading Services. Prior to this he worked as a consultant to virt-X and BT Radianz. Stuart also spent ten years with Merrill Lynch International Ltd as Head of EMEA Client Connectivity and Head of Best Execution Dealing Services.

David Howson
CTO

David has been working in technical and business roles in the financial markets across Europe and North America for more than 12 years, designing and deploying a host of low-latency market data and trading systems. He combines wide-ranging systems knowledge with project, people and client-management expertise, allied to an acute understanding of the commercial needs and legislative drivers of the financial trading sector.

Starting his career at TIBCO Finance Technology, David worked for clients including LIFFE, supporting the real-time market data delivery system for the open-outcry trading floor; Cedborsa (SIA), implementing and integrating a new exchange trading platform at the Milan Stock Exchange; and Den Danske Bank in Copenhagen, deploying a new live market data system. As Senior Consultant and Architect at Reuters Consulting, David worked on implementing and integrating a pan-European equities trading platform for NASDAQ Europe, going on to design and implement the Super Montage Hybrid trading system for NASDAQ Deutschland. As Principal Consultant to the Nasdaq Stock Market based in the US, David managed the redesign and deployment of several Market Site systems.

Back in the UK in 2006, David was one of the three people responsible for establishing the revived EASDAQ Consulting business, now trading as Equiduct Ltd. Today, as Chief Technology Officer, David is responsible for technology and market structure.
